Members must reside in Green or a surrounding community. We have many different types of membership: Fire Police, Junior Firefighters & Full Firefighters. Junior Firefighters must be between the ages of 14-18 and have a sponsor. Full Firefighters must be at least 18 years old, be in good physical health and can pass a doctor provided physical as well as a background check. There is no charge to join the Fire Department. All of the equipment needed to be active on the scene of a call (Personal protective equipment and training) is purchased by the department. Full Firefighters will be required to attend the Fire Academy and become certified as a NJ State Firefighter within your first year of joining.

There is no charge to join the Fire Department. All of the equipment needed to be active on the scene of a call (Personal protective equipment and training), is purchased by the department.

To be a firefighter in the State of New Jersey, you must complete a Firefighter 1 course within a year of joining. There is a monthly department drill as well as a a monthly department meeting. The drills and meetings are not mandatory, but they are to your benefit to attend as many of these events as possible.
