On Sunday October 31st at approximately 2:20pm, the volunteers of the GTFD were dispatched into our first due coverage area within Frelinghuysen for a reported structure fire. According to Warren County Dispatch, a neighbor reported smoke coming from the roof and eaves of the neighbors residence on Main Street.
Assistant Chief Olivier signed into service and requested and engine from Allamuchy and an engine and tanker from Blairstown for precautionary measures. When Assistant Chief Olivier arrived a few moments later, he determined that there was a fire in the residence that had been extinguished prior to his arrival by the occupant. GTFD crews arrived on scene and worked to contain and overhaul the area in question. Mutual aid resources were cancelled and the incident was downgraded by Assistant Chief Olivier.
Special thanks to our mutual aid partners and Allamuchy Green First Aid Squad for the quick response.
